Bridge Mate Dynamic Positioning

Maritime Technologies Bridge Mate Dynamic Positioning

The Bridge Mate Dynamic Positioning (DP) concept is based on a distributed architecture that emphasizes both redundancy and segregation philosophies. The robust design is important on vessels where a service and system specialist is not at hand 24 hours a day, every day.

In addition to distributed operator stations and DP control computers, the Bridge Mate system has distributed thruster and sensor interface units based on a stand-alone IO unit specially designed for use on DP vessels.

The distributed architecture reduces the cable installation considerably. Each interface unit can be placed close to the thrusters, the reference systems and the sensors to be interfaced. The design of the interface unit makes the Bridge Mate system well suited for retro t and upgrading within all equipment classes.

Bridge Mate Integrated Bridge System

The Bridge Mate Integrated Bridge System (IBS) concept is based on segregated architecture comprising a dual redundant network, flexible console and monitor solutions, and extremely durable marine-approved computers without fans or hard disks.

The Bridge Mate IBS is designed to optimize the human-machine interface, taking into account that different information is required depending on the type of operation at hand. All applications, such as ARPA radar, ECDIS, conning, ICAS, cameras, sensor control and monitoring, etc., are readily available on any Multi-Function Workstation (MFW), giving the operator unique redundancy and flexibility. As an option, Marine Technologies (MT) o ers secure satellite communication solutions for remote diagnostic and monitoring of IBS functions, enhancing operations and enabling more cost efficient system maintenance.

MT has targeted the o shore market, but the Bridge Mate IBS is adaptable to the requirements of all sea-going ship types. It is designed to meet all International Maritime Organization (IMO) and classification societies’ requirements, all the way up to one-man bridge operation.

Bridge Mate Thruster Control System

Maritime Technologies Bridge Mate Thruster Control and JX & DP 0 System

As with their popular dynamic positioning systems, Marine Technologies (MT) places a heavy emphasis on redundancy in the Bridge Mate Thruster Control System. The system uses three control computers and a redundant communication network for the main and backup control functions. The Thruster Control System can be interfaced with most types of thrusters, main engines and rudders. The system offers less wiring when delivered together with other MT products as the thruster interface
is then shared via the redundant network. The Thruster Control System is also available as a single, stand-alone system.

Bridge Mate DP Chair

Experience Complete Vessel Control at Your Fingertips

The Bridge Mate Dynamic Positioning (DP) concept can be easily integrated into the vessel operator’s chair utilizing a distributed architecture that emphasizes both redundancy and segregation philosophies, while minimizing cable installation. The Bridge Mate DP Chair brings complete vessel control to the operator’s fingertips utilizing a 15-inch touchscreen monitor incorporated into to the chair’s armrest. Manual, joystick and DP operations are all conveniently centralized, providing comfort and ease-of-use. Providing the perfect solution for those looking to accommodate a narrow bridge or obtain a compact solution at a lower price, the Bridge Mate DP Chair is available with DP 1 and DP 2 operator stations and can substitute or complement traditional stand-alone DP consoles on the bridge. Chair configurations with a dedicated DP operator station and Multi-Function Workstation(s) for bridge applications are also available.

Maritime Technologies Bridge Mate Integrated Bridge System

Bridge Mate JX & DP 0 Systems

Maritime Technologies Bridge Mate Thruster Control and JX & DP 0 System

The Bridge Mate JX and DP 0 systems are based on a distributed architecture like the Bridge Mate DP 1, DP 2 and DP 3 systems. This layout makes it possible to install hardware components in practical locations. Each interface unit (IO hardware) can be placed close to the thrusters, rudders, engines and sensors they are interfacing with in order to reduce cabling and installation costs.

Both the Bridge Mate JX and DP 0 systems can be delivered in a “compact operator station” version or a “console” version. Several different configurations of the console version are available depending on need. The compact operator station version is displayed below. Due to the system architecture, it is well suited for retro t and upgrade to any system class. The Bridge Mate JX system can easily be upgraded to DP 0 since thruster and sensor cabling and interface will be the same for both systems. Similarly, a DP 0 system can be upgraded to a higher class by adding more of the same hardware components for increased redundancy.
